Allegri: I don’t change the formation for fun
The Italian boss says that he does not mess about with the team's tactics lightly, and is optimistic that a win will take the Rossoneri closer to fourth place in Serie A
AC Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri has said that Saturday's match against Chievo at the San Siro is a chance to really climb the league table, and explained that he sometimes changes formation due to injuries.A win could take Milan up to seventh in Serie A if other results go their way, with the Rossoneri currently sitting 12th on 11 points.
"The game against Chievo will be even more important than the match against Genoa because a win would be a big boost in the league and would bring us closer to fourth place," he explained on the official Milan website.
The 45-year-old also explained that he changes the team formation when necessary, due to player injuries and for the players to fit in their correct positions.
"I don’t change the formation for fun, we don’t have much time to work but the players pick up everything quickly.
"If I have two wide players in Emanuelson and El Shaarawy, it’s obvious that we have to change our system of play. And of course injuries to Boateng, Robinho and Pato forced me into making certain choices," he said.
