Totti: Juventus out of Roma's reach
By Stefan Coerts
01-Nov-2012 4:40:00 PM
The experienced attacker is determined to help the Giallorossi get back on track and has set his sights on third place in the standings
Francesco Totti believes that Serie A leaders Juventus are already out of Roma's reach, but is confident his side can still finish third in the table and qualify for next year's edition of the Champions League. The Giallorossi currently sit seventh in the standings with 14 points from 10 games, trailing third-placed Napoli by eight points, but Totti has not given up hope of making it to European club football's elite competition just yet.
"It's now our objective to finish third in the table. Leaders Juventus are already out of their reach, but qualifying for the Champions League is still a realistic goal," Totti told reporters.
"We cannot afford to have another transitional season. Admittedly, there are teams out there that have done better so far, but we have enough quality to do well.
"We are always trying to do our utmost and achieve good results, but we have to get out of this negative moment."
Roma will be looking to return to winning ways on Sunday when they host Palermo.
