Mutu prepares for a return to Romania

The striker looks set to end his second spell in Italy by returning to his homeland, but cannot choose between Dinamo Bucharest and Steaua Bucharest
Cesena attacker Adrian Mutu appears to be on the brink of leaving the newly-relegated club in order to return to Romania, but is unsure whether he should join Dinamo Bucharest or Steaua Bucharest.

The veteran striker moved to Serie A twelve years ago, and has spent the entirety of his career in Italy since, barring a one-year spell at Chelsea, but following the Cavallucci Marini's relegation to Serie B he has signalled he wishes to join a club in his native country.

On July 25, Mutu ruled out the possibility of joining Vaslui on Twitter: "No, I'm not going to Vaslui although in recent years they are the team that has won the respect of all lovers of quality football."

Earlier today Mutu speculated further about his next club by asking his followers: "Leaving aside the past, I ask you... where do you want me to go Dinamo or Steaua?"

The 33-year-old had a successful period at Dinamo before moving to Inter in 2000, but his latest comment suggests that he is torn between a return to Stadionul Dinamo and his former side's cross-city rivals.
