Cassano transfer saga will be a nightmare, says Sampdoria vice-president
The Italy international has been continually linked with a move back to the Blucerchiati, and the club official expects the story to drag on for several months
Sampdoria vice-president Edoardo Garrone fears that speculation about Antonio Cassano's possible return to his former club could go on all summer, and possibly longer. The Italy international left Samp for AC Milan in January 2011, and quickly became an important first-team member at the Rossoneri. However, Cassano is keen to return to the Ligurian capital this summer, and he has been linked with both the Blucerchiati and Genoa in recent weeks.
Even though Garrone has all but ruled out a move for the player, he expects there to be plenty of talk about a transfer over the next few months.
"I can only say one thing on the matter and that's that the Cassano story will be a nightmare all summer long, and probably even after that," Garrone stated to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Cassano has a contract with Milan until the summer of 2014.
