Juventus to hold talks with Pescara over Verratti move, reveals agent

The Bianconeri appeared to have fallen behind some of their rivals in the race for the teenager's signature but they are now set for a potentially decisive meeting with the Delfini

The agent of Marco Verratti has revealed that Juventus will meet with Pescara next week to discuss the player's proposed transfer to Turin.

The Bianconeri were for a long time considered the front-runners to sign the 19-year-old but Delfini director Daniele Delli Carri recently suggested that the Old Lady had slipped behind the likes of Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain in the pecking order.

However, the player's representative has now announced that Juve have redoubled their efforts to sign Verratti.

"The two clubs will meet next week," agent Donato Di Campli told Tuttomercatoweb. "Juve would be willing to leave him at home [Pescara] for a season, but they can also take him in a co-ownership deal."

Di Campli also insisted that he has yet to be contacted by either Inter or PSG, who Delli Carri had claimed were also open to the idea of allowing Verratti to remain at Pescara on loan for a season.

"I haven't heard from Inter and, at the moment, there does not seem to be any interest from the French," he explained. "But should there be, we would obviously evaluate it.

"We are speaking hypothetically, of course, but obviously if PSG should take him I don't believe that he could remain at Pescara."
