Thiago Silva to miss Inter v Milan derby - report
04-May-2012 5:11:00 PM
The Rossoneri defender looks set to miss Sunday's Derby della Madonnina against the Nerazzurri as his thigh problems from earlier in the season continue to plague him
Thiago Silva has been ruled out of AC Milan's Serie A derby clash with Inter on Sunday after failing to shake off a thigh injury in time for the match, according to Sky Sport 24.The Brazil defender has been sidelined since aggravating his muscular problem during the warm-up prior to the league match against Roma on March 24, but had been expected to return to the side in recent matchdays.
On Wednesday, Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri expressed fresh hope that the 27-year-old would make his comeback against their arch-rivals after being allowed to continue his recovery by sitting out games against Siena and Atalanta. However, it has now been reported that he will not feature at San Siro.
The Rossoneri enter the derby showdown one point behind Juventus at the top of the Serie A table, while the Nerazzurri are three points adrift of Napoli in third place with just one more round to go after this weekend.
Inter and Milan kick off their game on Sunday at 20.45CET.
