Alessandro Nesta has been named in the AC Milan starting XI for Tuesday night's trip to Chievo in Serie A despite suffering from a fever, with the Rossoneri decimated by injuries and suspensions.
The Italian champions have been hit especially hard in defence, with Philippe Mexes, Ignazio Abate, Luca Antonini, Djamel Mesbah and Thiago Silva all injured, while Daniele Bonera is suspended.
Midfielders Massimo Ambrosini and Alberto Aquilani are also banned, with Kevin-Prince Boateng, Alexandre Pato, Mark van Bommel and Filippo Inzaghi all carrying injuries.
Clarence Seedorf will line up as trequartista, with Gennaro Gattuso returning to the starting line-up in the centre of midfield.
For the Flying Donkeys, Milan-owned loanee Alberto Paloschi starts up front alongside club captain Sergio Pellissier.
