thumbnail Hello,

The forward, who netted on his full debut for France in Wednesday's 2-1 victory over Germany, has been attracting interest from across Europe because of his fine form in Ligue 1

Montpellier's in-demand striker Oliver Giroud has revealed his fondness for Serie A and has admitted that he has been supporting AC Milan in the Champions League this season.

The France international, who netted on his full debut for Les Bleus in Wednesday night's win over Germany, has been linked with a number of top European clubs because of his goal-scoring exploits in Ligue 1 this season, with Newcastle United said to be particularly keen on the player.

However, Juventus and Napoli have also been linked with Giroud and he has strongly suggested that he would favour a move to Italy.

"They are teams important but now it is too early to decide [my future]," the 25-year-old forward told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"[But] I always follow the big Italian teams. They are re-emerging as major players in the Champions League, where I see Real Madrid and Barcelona are favoured.

"But I am also rooting for Milan."

When it finally does come to deciding his future, though, Giroud insisted that financial factors will not affect his thinking.

"I'm not interested in money," he claimed. "I like to play for the love of the fans, to see the stadium full and to enjoy myself."

Meanwhile, Giroud admitted that his first start for his country could not have gone much better.

"There were many positive things," he is quoted as saying by L'Equipe. "Firstly, it was a great debut because I scored my first goal.

"Then, a victory in Germany, which is no small thing. Tonight [Wednesday], it's a lot of happiness. I will savour for the next few days."

Giroud is the top scorer in Ligue 1 this season, having struck 16 times in 24 games.
