The Frenchman admits that he would love the chance to work with his former team-mate once more, as speculation mounts over the 37-year-old's futureMarseille coach Didier Deschamps has admitted he would be thrilled to add Juventus striker Alessandro Del Piero to his squad in the summer.
The 37-year-old's contract is set to expire at the end of the season and the Bianconeri have already announced that they will not renew his deal. The former Italy international has been linked with PSG, Parma, New York Red Bulls and LA Galaxy.
Deschamps played alongside Del Piero at the Turin club for five years, before coaching the forward in the 2006-07 campaign and admits that he would love to work with the Juve legend again.
"I have respect for what Alessandro has done in his career," Deschamps told Rai Sport.
"He's a champion whom I've had the good fortune to have as a team-mate and then a player.
"If he chose to come to Marseille, I would welcome him with open arms."
Del Piero has featured in 16 games in all competitions for Juve this season, scoring one goal in the process.
