Reto Ziegler's father has admitted that his son may well not have a future at Juventus as competition for places in Turin is fierce.
The Switzerland international signed for the Bianconeri in the summer, only to be deemed surplus to requirements and farmed out to Fenerbahce on loan once Antonio Conte took charge.
Despite the verstile defender being set to return to Italy at the end of the season, his father Rene is unsure of what the future holds for Ziegler.
“I don’t know about a possible return to Juventus, these things have nothing to do with me,” Ziegler senior told TMW.
“He joined Juventus because [previous boss Gigi] Del Neri and [sporting director Fabio] Paratici wanted him. Then Conte arrived and made it clear that he wasn’t part of the plan.
“I don’t think that there is any space for him at Juventus. Giorgio Chiellini is a monument there, then they have Stephan Lichtsteiner and Martin Caceres too," he concluded.
Ziegler has made 23 appearances for his temporary side in the Turkish Super Lig so far this season.
