Milan face Fiorentina at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on Sunday in a crucial final day match that will decide qualification to next season’s Champions League, but coach Carlo Ancelotti might have to make do without the services of David Beckham.
The Milan Channel reports that the 34-year-old picked up an ankle sprain during yesterday’s training session at Milanello and there are fears he will not be able to recover in time for the trip to Tuscany.
Ancelotti will also miss fellow midfield man Massimo Ambrosini through suspension, however, there are high hopes that centre-back Alessandro Nesta will make the squad after several months on the sidelines.
Milan defeated Fiorentina 1-0 in their first encounter of the season and will have to avoid defeat by two goals to keep hold of the final automatic Champions League berth.
