Juventus Chief Wants Scudetti Back Following Calciopoli Sentences

The fate of those involved in the infamous Calciopoli were learned yesterday, and the outcome wasn’t as bad as initially feared…

The disgraced Calciopoli mastermind and the former Juventus transfer guru Luciano Moggi, reacted furiously following the decision to spare him a jail term following his role in the scandal.

As the judges reached a verdict, Moggi was sentenced to 18 months in jail, a sentence that was later suspended.

The former chief is ready to take things further as he tries to clear his name from any wrong doing. Moggi's son Alessandro was also given a suspended term while Marcello Lippi's son Davide was acquitted of any charges.

In addition to this, the president of Juventus, Cobolli Gigli, has commented on the sentences handed down to the father and son, in an interesting interview.

“They had much milder sentences than those who had proposed the prosecutors,” the president declared in a press conference following his club’s training session.

“If in the near future there are further acquittals or sentencing myths such as these, then I would like to have our two Scudetti back that were revoked,” he added.

“They were both removed following the scandal, however, if they are found innocent, then…” Gigli concluded.

There should be plenty more to come from this scandal in the coming days, as this looks to be just the start of an interesting few weeks ahead for the Bianconeri and for the Serie A.
