The Croatian remains a supporter of the Andalusians, despite having ditched them for Barcelona, and revealed what life is like alongside Lionel Messi and Co.
Sevilla's Europa League victory - which Rakitic was a key part of in his central midfield role - earned them the right to feature in the annual clash against the Champions League winners, which this year was Real Madrid.
The Croatian, who joined Camp Nou from the Andalusian side this summer, warned his new Clasico rivals that his 2013-14 team-mates have the potential to come out on top in the glamour clash in the Cardiff City Stadium.
"I bet Sevilla win the Super Cup against Real Madrid," the 26-year-old told AS. "They can win. I was invited to go to the game."
The Barca midfielder was also full of praise for new team-mates Lionel Messi and Neymar, as well as new coach Luis Enrique, who's methods he compared to his previous coach, Unai Emery.
"Messi is the most outstanding player for many years. God has given a special gene, a different something that makes him the best," he added. "Despite Neymar's youth he does amazing things. People in his country love him madly.
"Luis Enrique works out all the details and leaves no doubt in the players. Emery also demanded pressure throughout the field, so the change was not as large as people think."
