thumbnail Hello,

Ahead of the Goal 50 on Monday, July 29, our countdown continues with each of Goal's regional managing editors this week choosing their best world XIs from 2012-13

All of my XI come from Latin America, although nearly all play in Europe.

Between the sticks, the obvious choice was Malaga goalkeeper Willy Caballero, an outstanding performer in the Champions League.

Among my three central defenders is America de Mexico’s Colombian star, Aquivaldo Mosquera, whose heroics lifted the Eagles to a dramatic and improbable league title. Another Colombian, Radamel Falcao, leads the attack alongside Edinson Cavani and Lionel Messi.

There is little argument that South America produces the best players in the world. A clear demonstration of this is the fact I don’t have a place in my starting XI for top-class talent such as Luis Suarez, Fred, Sergio Aguero, Angel Di Maria, Gonzalo Higuain and Ronaldinho.

Hey, Europe: fancy a kickabout with my boys?
