Barcelona sweating over Jordi Alba fitness
The former Valencia wing-back could face a spell on the sidelines after he picked up a thigh injury while away on international duty
Barcelona have received some disappointing news on the injury front as they may have to make do without the services of Jordi Alba for a while due to injury. The left-back picked up a thigh problem in the closing stages of Spain's 1-1 World Cup qualification draw against Finland on Friday evening, and could be out of action for a number of weeks as a result.
Alba left Spain's training camp on Saturday, and is now certain to miss Tuesday's clash with France and is a major doubt ahead of the Champions League quarter-final with Paris Saint-Germain.
"The obligatory medical tests on Jordi Alba in the morning have found a grade one muscle injury in the femoral biceps of his right thigh. He has left the camp," a team statement read.
Alba's injury comes only a week after fellow full-back Adriano was ruled out for up to six weeks with a hamstring problem.
