We are lucky Ronaldo plays for Real Madrid - Butragueno
The Blancos director is delighted with the Portuguese star's contribution to the team and has no intention of letting him go amid rumours of a return to Manchester United
Real Madrid sporting director Emilio Butragueno believes his side are "lucky" to have Cristiano Ronaldo playing for them. The Portuguese star has been linked with a return to Manchester United of late, but the Blancos legend has insisted that the club have no intention of letting the star go any time soon.
"Cristiano is under contract and we are very happy with him," Butrageno said at a Manchester United Foundation event.
"We are delighted he is at Madrid because he is a fantastic professional, and very ambitious in a positive way.
"His contribution to the team and the club has been amazing since he arrived. We are very grateful he came to us and are lucky he plays for Real Madrid.
"He scores a goal a game on average. This is incredible. I have been watching football since I was three and I've never seen anything like that.
"When Ronaldo is on the pitch, you know you are going to score. It is an incredible advantage."
