Saviola relishing Barcelona clash
The former Argentina striker has revealed that he cannot wait to face his former side and see some old faces at the club when the two teams clash in La Liga on Sunday
Malaga striker Javier Saviola has said that he is relishing the prospect of his facing his old employers Barcelona when the two sides meet on Sunday.
The former Argentina international revealed it will be a special occasion for him when he faces the club he spent six years playing for.
“I am personally really looking forward to playing Barcelona. I've been through the club and they treated me very well when I was there,” he told AS.
Malaga currently sit fourth in La Liga on 31 points and the 31-year-old believes they must aim for three points while playing a great game if they are to stand a chance against the Catalans.
“We will play to win and must be confident we can beat Barcelona,” added Saviola.
“Of course, we will have to play a perfect game and commit fewer errors than they do. We have to believe though, that we can do it.”
The former Real Madrid striker is looking forward to seeing some old friends when Barca visit La Rosaleda and admits he still has connections with the players there.
He added: “I still keep in touch with many people at Barca, so it will be nice to see them again.”
