Michel Herrero believes Levante can upset Barcelona
The Spanish midfielder is confident of his side's chances against the league leaders and insists that they will make life difficult for Tito Vilanova's men in Valencia
Levante midfielder Michel Herrero has fired a warning to Sunday's opponents Barcelona insisting his side are more than a match for the Liga giants. The Blaugrana are so far undefeated in the Spanish Primera Division and sealed their place in the last 16 of the Champions League midweek with a win against Spartak Moscow.
Levante, meanwhile, qualified for the next round of the Europa League and have won four of their last five at home, which has given the midfielder confidence that his side can spring an upset against the Catalans, who have struggled in previous encounters at the Ciudat de Valencia.
"Barcelona and Madrid, who for me are the best in the world, have had a bad time here in the last few years," Michel told reporters.
The 24-year-old believes the Catalan side are "a little afraid" and has full confidence in Levante's chances going into the game.
He added: "We're going to win or at least make it difficult. We have an advantage with our fans."
Michel did acknowledge Barcelona's class and went on to say they play "spectacular football and make everyone enjoy it."
Levante sit fourth in the table while Tito Vilanova's men will be looking to extend their lead at the top.
