Fabregas: Morata deserve a chance at Real Madrid
The Spain international respects Madrid's youth policy, but feels the young attacker should be given the opportunity to show what he can do
Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas believes that Real Madrid youngster Alvaro Morata deserves to be given a chance to prove himself in the first team. The promising striker netted the winner in los Blanco's 2-1 win over Levante at the weekend, and Fabregas feels that the 20-year-old should be given the opportunity to prove himself.
"Every club has its own philosophy and own culture. You have players who make it and remain at a club forever, while others are forced to move on," Fabregas told Onda Cero when questioned on Madrid's youth policy.
"Someone like Morata came on for five minutes and managed to find the net. Sometimes something inexplicable happens, but it all happens for a reason.
"You have to give guys like him the opportunity to show what they can do."
Morata has netted once in three La Liga appearances this term.
