The 22-year-old defender said he needs no motivation and will be fired up to play against the Blancos because of the rivalry they have with his parent clubAndreu Fontas says he cannot wait for Sunday night when his Mallorca side host Real Madrid, as a result of his affections for permanent employers Barcelona.
The defender joined The Islanders on a season-long loan deal 12 days ago, in a bid to get some first team football under his bet after a long injury layoff.
But, though the occasion will be a special one for Fontas, he is still expecting a very stern test from the reigning Liga champions.
"Madrid are always a special opponent for me because my past is in Barcelona and I am eager to play against a great team. It is special," he told AS.
"We must work as a unit in the game because we know that the opponent will be very diverse."
And the centre-back believes his side can get something from the game, as long as they work hard as a team and do not fear Madrid.
"We must face up to them, stand well back and try to take our chances," Fontas continued.
"They will defend well but we must do the same and stick together, focus, then try to exploit them where we can."
