The former Espanyol star feels the midfielder will easily adapt to his new surroundings, and added that his previous spell at Arsenal will be an advantage
The versatile midfielder joined the Catalan giants from Arsenal in the summer transfer window, and his illustrious compatriot has little doubt that he will make an impact at his new club.
"The important thing for him is to adapt to the team as soon as possible. I don't think he will have any problems, though, with his enormous will to succeed," N'Kono stated to Footafrica365.fr.
"It's an advantage that he has played in the Premier League at Arsenal. Both teams obviously don't employ the exact same style of play, but there won't be a big difference either.
"I was very happy for him when I found out that Song was joining Barcelona. It's a huge step for him. I hope that he will be successful at his new club."
N'Kono made over 200 league appearances for Espanyol between 1982 and 1991 and is seen as one of the best African goalkeepers ever.
