Modric arrives at Madrid at the right moment, says Jarni
The former defender is confident that the former Tottenham star will be a success at the Santiago Bernabeu side, and has praised his versatility
Former Croatia international Robert Jarni is confident that Luka Modric has what it takes to succeed at Real Madrid. The gifted midfielder signed a five-year deal with Madrid on Monday to complete his move from Tottenham Hotspur, and his compatriot believes the transfer comes at the perfect moment for the 26-year-old.
"Modric is making the move to Spain at the perfect moment in his career. He is very mature and knows how it is to play in one of Europe's top leagues," Jarni wrote in his column for Orbyt.
"He has suffered a lot in the past few weeks, but he got his dream move to Madrid at last. His first weeks at the club will not be easy, but he will be a great addition to Jose Mourinho's team.
"Luka is a very versatile player. He is a playmaker with a great final pass, although he has played some great games as a pivot as well. He can play anywhere."
Modric, 26, becomes the fourth Croat to play for Real Madrid after Davor Suker, Robert Prosinecki and Jarni.
