I hope people enjoyed Spain's win over Puerto Rico, says Cazorla

The new Arsenal signing has stressed the improvement of the team, while SFF president Villar expressed his delight at the national team's treatment while in the Caribbean nation

Spain midfielder Santi Cazorla hopes that the fans were entertained by their 2-1 win over Puerto Rico, but maintains that the improvement of the team was the main priority.

The Arsenal playmaker scored alongside Cesc Fabregas just before half-time to help La Roja to victory over the 138th world-ranked Caribbean nation, despite high humidity and heat rendering conditions difficult to play in.

"I hope everyone has enjoyed the game. However, the most important thing is for the team to get better," Cazorla said to EFE.

Spanish Football Federation president Angel Maria Villar also had kind words to say about the hospitality of the Puerto Rican people, to whom he extended his gratitude.

"We have come to this happy country and we were treated as if we were in our own home. Puerto Rico treated us with love. I congratulate and thank the Puerto Rican people."

Spain’s next match will be a visit to Georgia for a World Cup qualifier in Group A on September 11.
