Valencia president postpones Alba talks with Barcelona - report
The two clubs were hoping to thrash out a deal for the 23-year-old Spain international at a restaurant in Catalunya on Thursday evening, but the venue was leaked to the press
Valencia president Manuel Llorente has reportedly postponed his scheduled meeting with Barcelona officials over the proposed transfer of Jordi Alba to Camp Nou.According to El Economista, the Che supremo was supposed to sit down with Blaugrana sporting director Andoni Zubizaretta and vice-president Josep Mario Bartomeu at a Catalan restaurant on Thursday evening.
However, the venue of the sit-down was leaked to the press and Llorente, perturbed by the heavy media presence, decided to propose a rain check.
It is not yet known when and where the rescheduled meeting will take place but it is believed that Barca remain intent on wrapping up the transfer before the start of Spain's Euro 2012 campaign, against Italy on Sunday.
The two sides have yet to agree a fee for the left-back, who still has three years to run on his contract with the Mestalla outfit.
Barca are said to be willing to pay €11 million for Alba, who began his career with the Blaugrana, but Valencia are reportedly holding out for €15m.
