The Blancos president feels that winning is only natural for the newly-crowned Spanish champions, and believes the current team have honoured the club's legendary statusClub president Florentino Perez has voiced his opinion that Real Madrid 'were born to win trophies' and added that Jose Mourinho's men have made history with their performances in La Liga this term.
Madrid finished nine points clear of Barcelona this term to secure their 32nd league title in history, and Perez has nothing but praise for his squad who also broke the records for the most points and goals scored in a single league season.
"We've fulfilled the promise we made last year to return. This club was born to win and we never get tired of it. We will continue to work and we want to enhance the legend of this club," Perez stated to reporters.
"This team are already part of this club's legend. Their numbers will be impossible to forget and they have honoured our history. We won this title in our 110th anniversary and we're sure to have done it with the values that have been handed down to us by past generations.
"Talent, devotion, sense of sacrifice and the defence of this club have formed a formidable squad that have won this league title with a magnificent coach who is in the hearts of all Madridistas."
Real Madrid set a Primera Division record by becoming the first club to amass 100 points in a single league season following Sunday's 4-1 victory against Mallorca at the Santiago Bernabeu. They also set a new landmark by scoring 121 Liga goals.
