TEAM NEWS: Higuain starts as Real Madrid aim to clinch La Liga title at Athletic Bilbao

The Argentine is restored to the starting line-up in place of Karim Benzema and Sami Khedira also starts in midfield as Esteban Granero drops to the bench
Real Madrid will be crowned as champions of La Liga for the first time since the 2007-08 season if they beat Athletic Bilbao at San Mames tonight, and Jose Mourinho has opted for Gonzalo Higuain to lead the line over Karim Benzema, despite the Frenchman scoring a brace in the 3-0 win over Sevilla last weekend.

The Portuguese coach almost has every player available to him, with just Angel Di Maria missing through suspension and Ricardo Carvalho absent as he continues to recover from injury.

In place of the Argentine, Jose Callejon will start on the right flank with Sami Khedira returning to partner Xabi Alonso in midfield in place of Esteban Granero.

Marcelo Bielsa is unable to choose Ander Herrera nor Ander Iturraspe both of whom are suspended for the clash. Javi Martinez, Markel Susaeta and Fernando Llorente all start the game having been rested in the 2-0 defeat at Real Zaragoza on Sunday. Iker Muniain was also due to be reinstated but picked up a knock in the warm up and was replaced by Toquero.
