thumbnail Hello,

The Portuguese was sent to the stands for protesting the award of the late free-kick from which the Yellow Submarine snatched a draw at El Madrigal

Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho refused to speak to the press after being sent off during his side's controversial 1-1 draw with Villarreal on Wednesday night.

Los Blancos were poised to claim three precious points at El Madrigal thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo's strike just after the hour mark, but Marcos Senna levelled matters with a free-kick with just seven minutes of normal time remaining.

Mourinho was then shown a red card for protesting referee Jose Paradas Romero's decision to award the set-piece, thus forcing the Portuguese to join his colleague Rui Faria in the stands, with the assistant coach having been sent off earlier in the game.

Madrid then lost their discipline on the field, with Sergio Ramos and Mesut Ozil both earning themselves second yellow cards in the closing stages of the game as Los Blancos ended the game with just nine men.

The draw means that Madrid's lead over Barcelona at the top of La Liga has been reduced from ten points to just six points in the space of five days.
