The Cottagers dropped to the bottom following Saturday's 3-0 home defeat to Southampton but, ahead of Tuesday's FA Cup fourth-round replay with Sheffield United, the Dutchman remained defiant over his position.

"There are maybe 16 Premier League managers under threat. That's how football works.
"It could be Chris Hughton and Alan Pardew. It's the mechanism of the industry. It doesn't worry me at all.
"I know I have the full confidence of the owner, 100 per cent. But more importantly I have the full confidence of the playing squad."
With his side currently four points adrift of safety, Meulensteen set out a target for the team to achieve if they are to retain their top-flight status.
"If you look at it, from the 14 league games left, we will probably have to win half of them," he said. "Maybe six games would be enough, or five wins and a couple of draws."
