Soldado urges Tottenham to attack Manchester United

The Spain international is confident that Spurs can repeat last season's success at Old Trafford and feels that his partnership with Emmanuel Adebayor will improve
Tottenham striker Roberto Soldado has urged his side to attack Manchester United when they face the reigning champions on New Year's Day.

The two sides go into the game level on points with David Moyes's men and having ended a 26-year wait for victory at Old Trafford last season with a 3-2 win.

Soldado, who scored last time out as Tim Sherwood's side beat Stoke City 3-0, is excited about the fixture and feels that his side can win again if they approach the game in the right way.

"I'm really looking forward to it," he told the club's official website.

"We played at United in the Champions League when I was at Valencia; we drew 1-1.

"It's a very big game. We're on the same points as United and, if we attack them, we have a chance to beat them."

The Spain international also took time out to praise fellow striker Emmanuel Adebayor, who has been in fine form since being recalled to the first team under Sherwood.

"I've a great partnership with Adebayor, we're playing close to each other and we're causing teams problems," he enthused. "I think we'll get better in the future as well."
