Newcastle duo Gouffran & Sissoko playing at Bayern's level - Pardew

The manager has hailed his two wide players, insisting their performances are akin to those seen regularly at the Allianz Arena, but warned Loic Remy over taking future penalties
Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew believes Yoan Gouffran and Moussa Sissoko are producing Bayern Munich-standard performances.

Gouffran, who scored for the fifth straight home game against Stoke, and Sissoko have been responsible for keeping Hatem Ben Arfa out of the team, and the latter only started against Mark Hughes' men due to Cheikh Tiote being suspended.

Although Pardew was thrilled with Ben Arfa's display, he underlined the task the 26-year-old faces in order to nail down a regular starting berth.

"Hatem produced some great moments during the game. How he's not scored [I don’t know] - he must have had 15 shots and a couple of them were exceptional efforts," Pardew told reporters.

"I keep saying to him that Gouffran and Sissoko have set the standard here, the sort of standard that you would expect at Bayern Munich from their wide players, and that's what we need from [Ben Arfa].

"If he brings that talent then he will get a regular place in the team."

There was one incident in the victory over Stoke that infuriated the Newcastle boss as Loic Remy missed a penalty when Stoke were 1-0 ahead.

"I was then incensed with the penalty, because Yohan Cabaye should have been taking that, which we had words about at half-time," Pardew explained.

"I said to [Remy] at half-time that Cabaye is the penalty taker and he said he didn't know that. So that makes me question myself and my staff."
