The Spain international feels his side can win silverware this season and believes a victory in the derby could give either side a springboard to go onto greater thingsJesus Navas says Manchester City have enough quality to beat champions Manchester United as he prepares for his first derby with his new club.
Manuel Pellegrini’s men take on their local rivals at the Etihad Stadium having taken seven points from their opening four games.
And Navas is impressed with his new squad who he feels can have a successful season under their new boss.

The Spain international also feels that Sunday’s clash is a crucial fixture which could go some way to deciding the title.
"The results of games such as this have a big influence on the title," he added.
"The winners will come away full of confidence, reinforced, it can be a springboard to better things.
"A derby such as this is like a six-pointer, when the two teams are so close to each other."
Navas is also hoping he can make an impact on the game, after moving to England from Sevilla during the summer.
"I know I can provide width and speed to get around the back," he explained.
"I don’t think it’s any more physical in England than Spain. When you are a tricky wide player, you are always used to tackles and challenges.
"Defenders are always tough, whether you play in Spain or England. The difference for me has been the speed and tempo of the game."
