King confident Soldado will be prolific

The Spaniard has moved to White Hart Lane for €30 million and the former Spurs centre-back believes the forward will adapt to English football
Former Tottenham captain Ledley King is confident new signing Roberto Soldado will score plenty of goals for the club this season.

Soldado joined Spurs for €30 million from Valencia in a club record transfer as the White Hart Lane side continue to equip themselves for a renewed challenge for a place in the top four.

And King, now a club ambassador for Spurs, believes the Spain international will have no problem adapting to the Premier League, having only previously played in his home country.

"I've seen him play a few times, obviously in Spain, and what I've seen is a goalscorer, and that's what a side like Tottenham are looking for," he told Sky Sports News.

"We've obviously got good options in [Jermain] Defoe and [Emmanuel] Adebayor and the young players coming through, but this guy is really a goalscorer and I'm sure that he can do that in the Premier League."

Tottenham have also signed Nacer Chadli from Twente and Paulinho this summer, and could be set to add Toulouse midfielder Etienne Capoue to the squad, with the French club's president Olivier Sadran confirming a deal to take the 24-year-old to White Hart Lane is in place.
