The Sweden international insists he had a number of clubs interested in his but says the ambition of the new boss persuaded his move from Blackburn RoversMartin Olsson has revealed Norwich City manager Chris Hughton was an influential factor in his decision to move to Carrow Road.
The 25-year-old has brought an end to his seven-year stay at Blackburn Rovers in order to secure a return to the Premier League with Hughton's side after the clubs agreed a fee on Wednesday.
The Sweden international insists the ambition of the Norwich boss played a key part in his switch from Ewood Park and claims he developed his game in the Championship last season.
"I’m very happy, it feels good to play in the Premier League again, to be with a Premier League club, so yes I’m excited," he told the club's official website.
"My dream has always been to be in the Premier League but we [Blackburn] went down into the Championship, which was a good lesson for me. I learned a lot of things.
"But I’m at a new club right now, so I’m looking forward to meeting the players and enjoying my time here. I had a few clubs [interested] but I think Chris [Hughton] gave me a good idea of how they wanted to play and the ambition of this club."
