The 30-year-old midfielder believes playing at the Gunners' home stadium during their quarter-final tie on Monday will provide his side's young stars with a terrific experience

Mikel Arteta believes Arsenal’s NextGen side will benefit immensely from the experience of playing at the Emirates Stadium when they face CSKA Moscow on Monday.

The Gunners face the Russian side in the quarter-finals of the elite European youth competition after knocking out holders Inter Milan in the last 16.

And Arteta has described the opportunity as a “very good experience”, urging his side's youth players to “enjoy” the occasion as it is not something that happens every day.

“If they can get a good crowd and people are supportive of the young lads, for them it's going to be a very good experience,” he told Arsenal Player.

“Playing for a club like Arsenal and in that stadium doesn't happen every day so they will be very lucky if that's the case. It's something to enjoy.”

The Spanish midfielder thinks the competition is a great way to measure the young Gunners’ ability in comparison with the rest of Europe, while he also hinted that “three or four players” can become important players for the senior side in the future.

“In a competition like that, they can see how good they are compared to the other teams in Europe. I think it's a very good point to see where they are.

“They've reached the quarter-finals already and this means that Arsenal are heading in the right direction.

“We've got some good players coming up. I don't want to say any names because you underestimate the others maybe. In my head, there are three or four players that will become very important players for this club."
