McManaman horror challenge sparks half-time brawl at Wigan v Newcastle

A horror challenge from Wigan striker Callum McManaman on Newcastle's Massadio Haidara sparked a half-time brawl between players and coaching staff at the DW Stadium.The young forward clattered into the Frenchman at speed with his boot raised high and nowhere near the ball, forcing the Magpies man to immediately withdraw for treatment.
Newcastle assistant manager John Carver leapt off the bench on the half-time whistle and attempted to confront McManaman as tempers frayed and more players got involved.
Stewards were required to intervene and pull players and staff apart before the two teams finally returned to their dressing-rooms.
Referee Mark Halsey appeared to have his view obscured by a player and did not give a foul against the Latics man, who is likely to face retrospective action for his challenge.
