Sagna and Podolski set to miss Arsenal's trip to Swansea
The duo missed Wednesday's away victory over Bayern Munich, and remain sidelined for Saturday's trip to south Wales, along with long-term absentee Jack Wilshere
Arsene Wenger has revealed that Bacary Sagna and Lukas Podolski will miss Saturday’s trip to Swansea City, as they continue to recover from knee and ankle problems respectively. The pair could only watch as their side pulled off a surprise 2-0 away win over Bayern Munich on Wednesday night, and will have to do the same again at the Liberty Stadium.
The Gunners were also without Jack Wilshere in Germany, and Wenger confirmed that the youngster remains sidelined with a bruised bone in his foot.
"Sagna and Podolski will not be back," the Frenchman told the club's official website.
"And Wilshere, as we know, is out as well. So the only one who will come back is [Nacho] Monreal because he was not qualified for the Champions League."
Kieran Gibbs was in the starting line-up at the Allianz Arena, but may have to sit out on Saturday after aggravating a thigh injury.
"I think he will be out on Saturday," Wenger explained. "He had a little reaction on his thigh. He is not injured but we have to be cautious with it. He might be out.
"Apart from that everyone who played [at Bayern] should be OK. There are bumps and bruises after a game of that intensity but that should be it."
