Tevez charged with driving while disqualified and without insurance, Cheshire Police confirm
The Manchester City marksman could face up to six months imprisonment for driving while disqualified, and discover his fate when he faces the courts on April 3
Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has been charged for driving while disqualified and without insurance, Cheshire Police have told Goal.comIn statement, Cheshire Constabulary confirmed that the 29-year-old was arrested on the A538 in Macclesfield at 5:13pm on Thursday 7 March and was later released on bail.
The Argentina international answered bail today at Middlewich Custody Suite and was formally charged.
Tevez will appear before Macclesfield magistrates on April 3.
The maximum penalty for driving whilst disqualified is six months imprisonment for a first-time offender.
The former Manchester United star was disqualified from driving for six months in January after failing to provide pertinent information after his car was clocked speeding.
Tevez, who does not have a UK driving licence, denied he was driving when the car was caught speeding in January and attributed his lack of correspondence with the police to him not understanding the world 'constabulary' on official letters.
