Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen insists he would swap the two goals he scored against Liverpool on Sunday for the points he felt his side deserved.His goals helped Spurs overturn a 1-0 deficit after Luis Suarez opened the scoring for Liverpool. However, individual mistakes from the north London side saw the Reds run out 3-2 winners.
Andre Villas-Boas' side had gone 12 top-flight games unbeaten prior to their loss at the Reds, two points ahead of fourth-placed Chelsea, who have a game in hand over the north London outfit.
"It was frustrating," Vertonghen told the club's official website.
"Over the 90 minutes we were better team and of course, I scored twice, but I would rather we’d won this game.
"I’m pleased with my goals but believe me, I would give my goals away to even take a point.
"As I said, I thought we were the better team and I’m disappointed we didn’t get a win or a point because we deserved it."
