Tottenham must maintain good form at Liverpool, says Assou-Ekotto
By Husmukh Kerai

Andre Villa-Boas' side are unbeaten in 12 Premier League games heading into Sunday's clash at Anfield, and the Spurs left-back is determined to keep that momentum going
Benoit Assou-Ekotto says it is vital that Tottenham keep up their impressive run of form, ahead of Sunday's game against Liverpool.Spurs go to Anfield unbeaten in their last 12 and are aiming for a fifth successive win, a sequence which has put them in pole position for a Champions League spot.
Assou-Ekotto knows that Liverpool have European ambitions of their own, though, and so is expecting a difficult game.
"It’s a tough game, Anfield isn’t an easy place to go and play," he told the club's official website.
"They also want to finish in the European places at the end of the season, so it’s important for both teams. Arsenal don't play, so it’s also a chance to go further ahead.
"It’s important to win, the more you win the more you have confidence, that becomes spirit and that can change your mentality. Then, when you go on the pitch, you only have one solution and that’s to win."
The Europa League could have proved an unwelcome distraction from Spurs' progress in the Premier League, but Andre Villas-Boas' men ran out comfortable 3-0 winners against Inter on Thursday.
"We played a good game with good intensity and we made it very difficult for them," he added.
"It was important to score early. The Italian teams have lots of experience and they know how to manage a game. We scored very early and then the game was more open.
"It was important not to concede a goal as well. Even one goal can give Inter confidence but I think now if we can score just one goal at the San Siro we will make it difficult for them. So that was important for us, Brad [Friedel], the defence, for everyone."
