Blackburn fans pelt Venky's owners with snowballs - report

The Lancashire based club has been on a downward curve ever since the Pune franchisee took over in 2010....
Blackburn Rovers' fans have been not taken the subtle route in letting the owners know of their displeasure over the club's position in England. Right from the sacking of Sam Allardyce, under whom Rovers were doing quite well and away from the relegation zone, to the appointment of Steve Kean, the fans are not at all happy with things.

After being relegated to the Championship, Blackburn were in a healthy position under Steve Kean before he was sacked too and replaced by Henning Berg, a fan favourite at Ewood Park. Berg's stay would only last for 57 days as he was given the boot just before the New Year. The hierarchy have now appointed former West Brom player Michael Appleton as the manager.

Fans vented their anger by throwing snowballs on the owners right before Blackburn's 2-1 home defeat to Charlton Athletic. Thiswas Appleton's first game in-charge of the club.

One of the snowballs hit Jitendra Desai, husband of owner Anuradha Desai, on the face as he was stepping out of his limousine at the entrance to Ewood Park. Jitendra looked distressed and wiped his face with a handkerchief given to him by an aide before making his way into the ground.

Blackburn currently lie 14th in the Championship table and judging by the form the club are in, they could be in danger of going down even further.
