With Liverpool very much in transition this season, Brendan Rodgers could use the January transfer window to further shape the Reds' squad as he sees fit.

The Anfield clubs have not picked up the results they would have liked so far, but appear to be improving, while the red-hot form of Luis Suarez has been a boost for the supporters.

The Uruguayan is among the top scorers in the Premier League this term, although goals have been tougher to come by elsewhere on the pitch, which is why Liverpool may look to remedy that with a move for Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

The Dutchman is available at a reduced price this winter, with his contract set to expire in June, and has been earmarked as a top target for the red half of Merseyside.
