Carragher: Suarez one of Liverpool's greatest strikers
The Reds stalwart has compared the Uruguay international to club top goalscorers Robbie Fowler, Michael Owen and Fernando Torres in terms with impact he has on the team's fortunes
Jamie Carragher has hailed Luis Suarez as one of Liverpool's greatest strikers after his double against Wigan took his tally to 34 goals in 69 games for the club.
The 34-year-old has played alongside three of the Reds' top 10 all-time goalscorers during his 16-year career on Merseyside – Robbie Fowler, Michael Owen and Fernando Torres - and believes Suarez is up there with the best to have graced the Anfield pitch.
Despite being criticised for profligacy last season, the 25-year-old former Ajax forward has struck 13 times in all competitions this term – including 10 of Liverpool’s 17 Premier League goals – and Carragher insists such an achievement should not be glossed over, adding that no other Premier League attack brings the same qualities.

"He is definitely right up there," Carragher told the club’s official website.
"I can only talk about the players I've played with: [Robbie] Fowler, [Michael] Owen, [Fernando] Torres, and I think he comes pretty close to that list."
"For him to do what he is doing in a side that is still building under the new manager, I wouldn't swap him for anyone in the Premier League. I think what he does in our team and what he gives us no other player really could."
