The France midfielder believes that his side have the ability to go through the Premier League campaign without defeat, as long as his team-mates have enough faith in themselves

Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri thinks that his team has the ability to remain unbeaten in the Premier League all season, providing his team-mates believe in themselves.

The France midfielder endured a difficult start to life in Manchester following his high-profile move from Arsenal last season, failing to cement a permanent position in Roberto Mancini's starting XI.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the France international said: "I don't know if we will stay unbeaten. I know we have the quality to stay unbeaten but all of us have to think this way.

"When we go out on the pitch we should think we will win. With the quality we have if we are sure of it, if we run for each other and fight for each other we can do it."

Nasri has struggled to find his best position on the pitch and has often lost out to David Silva. His opportunities in the middle have also been limited following Carlos Tevez’s return to the side, and Mancini's tactic of pushing Yaya Toure further forward when in need of a goal.

But with Silva injured, the Frenchman has taken the role of the creator, with City unable to score against West Ham on Saturday evening, something which rarely happened last season.

The lack of goals so far this campaign is a concern for Mancini, and Nasri thinks that City must re-find their goalscoring touch if they are to emulate last season’s success.

He added: "We missed many chances [against West Ham] and if you do miss these types of chances you can't expect to win the game, we have to improve on that.

"The good thing is we haven't lost a game still in the Premier League and we have to continue on this point."

Manchester City are preparing to face Ajax in their must win Champions League fixture tomorrow night at the Etihad Stadium and Nasri is expected to continue in midfield because of injuries to Silva and James Milner.
