Aston Villa are preparing to make a swoop for Stade Rennais winger Yacine Brahimi after the midfielder announced his attention to quit the club, according to Sky Sports.
The 22-year-old can operate as a playmaker or a winger, and has attracted the attentions of a number of clubs across Europe, including Borussia Monchengladbach and Ligue 1 rivals Sochaux.

However it is Villa who look set to move first for the Clairefontaine academy graduate, who had a spell with Paris Saint-Germain before moving to Rennes, after the midfielder revealed his disappointment at a lack of first-team opportunities at Route de Lorient.
"They do not count on me at Rennes," Brahimi told RMC.
"With the style of play there are times where I don't play - our relationship is broken now and I have reached the point of no return."
Brahimi made just six appearances for Rennes last season and the new Villans boss Paul Lambert is keen to secure his services on a loan basis, with a view to a permanent deal in the future.
