A friend has revealed the midfielder demanded to know the whereabouts of his son before inquiring about the result of the game and asking why it was stopped early

It has been revealed that after waking from a coma and asking how his son was, Fabrice Muamba enquired about was the final score of Bolton’s FA Cup clash with Tottenham.

The midfielder remains in intensive care at the London Chest Hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest during his side’s quarter-final clash at White Hart Lane.

The 23-year-old has been showing marked signs of improvement of late, even having a brief conversation with manager Owen Coyle.

And it has now been revealed by a friend of the Bolton star that one of his first thoughts was to ask of the game.

Aime Esalo revealed the 23-year-old asked his father Marcel: “Did we lose?”

Mr Esalo added: “When he was told they were drawing, Fabrice asked why they had stopped the game and his father said ‘Because of you’.”

Muamba’s selfless thoughts for his club came immediately after he recognised his fiancee and asked to know where their three-year-old son was.
