'He's unstoppable when he's in full flow' - Tottenham's Ledley King hails Gareth Bale
Defender is full of praise for his team-mate, claiming on current form he has few rivals, and pointing to his pace as one of his greatest assets
By John Stammers
The former Southampton man put in a fine performance during Spurs' 3-1 victory against Wigan at White Hart Lane on Tuesday night, capping the display with two wonderful goals.
Ledley King returned from injury in the same game and the centre-back claimed that, on current form, the 22-year-old winger is among the best in the world.
He told the club's official website: "Gareth's brilliant, a top, top player, one of the best around at the moment.
"He's unstoppable when he's in full flow."
The 31-year-old also revealed how grateful for his contribution the other Tottenham players were, particularly late on in games.
He added: "He can do it when a lot of players are tired.
"You know he's going to get the ball, knock it and run past players.
"As defenders we can sit back late on, he picks the ball up in our half and just takes off. It's great for the other players in the team."
