thumbnail Hello,

Anti-impotence drug not being taken to South Africa...

The FA have spoken out to refute tabloid reports that appeared on Sunday morning claiming that Fabio Capello's England squad would be taking Viagra with them to the World Cup next summer.

The reports claimed that the Three Lions would be using the anti-impotence medication to boost the players' lung capacity, helping them to cope with the effects of the altitude they will encounter in South Africa.

"The England medical staff are conducting detailed research with a variety of experts ahead of next year's World Cup," an FA spokesman said, according to The Sporting Life.

"However, there has been no discussion with regard to Viagra and certainly no plans for the players to take it in South Africa at the tournament."

England are set to be based at Rustenburg next summer, 5,000 feet above sea level.
