Avram Grant Under Consideration For Portsmouth Manager's Job - Report
25-Nov-2009 3:12:11 PM
Portsmouth are considering offering Avram Grant the vacant manager's job at Fratton Park, following the sacking of Paul Hart yesterday, according to a report from Sky Sports News.
Early reports that Grant was being mooted as a possible replacement for Hart were quickly refuted behind the scenes by the Pompey hierarchy yesterday evening, but it now looks as though the Israeli, already at the club as director of football, is in the frame for a return to a more hands-on role.
Former Charlton Athletic and West Ham United boss Alan Curbishley is still one of the favourites, according to bookmakers, whilst recently-sacked Peterborough United manager Darren Ferguson, son of Manchester United legend Sir Alex, is also in the running.
Hart was offered a role as technical director at Portsmouth yesterday in the wake of his sacking but was reported to have turned down the offer. Sky Sports News now reports that he is considering accepting that offer.
