Luca Toni Threatens To Quit Bayern Munich For West Ham United
The big Italian is seeking first team football in England if he cannot find it in Germany.
"With Van Gaal there is a particular rapport," said Toni. "If I am not given any playing time I will speak to the club that declared me not transferable this summer to understand what my future is."
West Ham United manager Gianfranco Zola is a known admirer of the Italian international and is said to be poised for a January swoop. Toni needs first-team football to ensure his place in Italy's World Cup squad, though Bayern's summer recruits Mario Gomez and Ivica Olic may prevent that from happening.
"There's a World Cup in a year's time and a title to be defended, and I don't want to miss that chance," said Toni. "I hope to return to play as soon as possible."
Toni has scored a staggering 57 goals in 81 matches for the German club, but has endured a difficult spell under Van Gaal's brief tenure, having been sent down to train with the reserves this summer after his fitness failed to impress the Dutch tactician.
