Manchester City Will Win The Premier League Within 5 Years - Tony Adams

The former Gunner believes that the Citizens' financial investment will pay off sooner rather than later...

EPL: Tony Adams, Liverpool v Portsmouth (PA)
Tony Adams, the former Arsenal defender who was sacked as manager of Portsmouth in January after succeeding Harry Redknapp and taking the Fratton Park outfit to the brink of relegation, thinks that Manchester City are certainties to become Premier League champions within the next handful of seasons.

The ex-England international feels that the sheer amount of cash invested by the Mancunians means that manager Mark Hughes will be in charge of the champions soon, although they may have to win another trophy first in order to generate some momentum.

"You've got Manchester City. If they continue to spend what they're spending, it's inevitable that within the next couple of years they will win the league," he told Sky Sports News.

"I think it's inevitable. If they continue to do what they're doing. Mark's got a problem of changing the culture and mentality of becoming winners - that's a little bit of a hurdle. Maybe if they win the FA Cup [it can help].

"If they were to win a trophy this year and they were to become a winning Man City team, then they will grow, if they continue to spend that amount of money."
